We're STILL busy with the olive harvest - can you believe it! Although we finished with own trees last week, we still have a few more runs of the press until we finally shut down for the season which is going to be a huge relief as I have to say that I am physically exhausted! Hence due to the length of the olive season, which is more than double last years harvest, it will be a while yet before the the oil is bottled, etc as it all still has to be filtered - another time consuming process that we have actually already started but one that takes ages as the filter can only process about 30-50 litres / hour...
Jammer, want ik had gehoopt dat de olie al verscheept kon worden, zit al een tijdje zonder. De rode wijn is wel vrijwel klaar voor verzending, hopelijk kan het volgende week maandag mee. Dan gaan er meer dan 3.000 flessen onderweg voor mij, waar ga ik dat laten?
Oh ja, het gaat ook goed met onze eigen wijn, die we in februari gemaakt hebben. De malolactische gisting is achter de rug en de wijn rijpt nu rustig verder.
